A MAN has been killed in a hit-and-run incident in Limerick City.
The incident took place at around 4:40am this morning and involved a man in his 20s.
The unnamed man was hit by a jeep on Hyde Road.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
A Garda Technical Examination of the scene is already underway.
According to the authorities, a black Mitsubishi Shogun jeep was involved in the crash but failed to remain at the scene.
Hyde Road is closed while an investigation takes place.
In the meantime, Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Roxboro Road Garda Station.
They are also calling on anyone who may have dash cam footage to come forward.
