A MAN has been taken to hospital after a car was set on fire in Derry in the early hours of this morning.
The incident occurred at around 3.30am in the Sevenoaks area of the city.
Police believe a gas cylinder was placed inside the vehicle before it was set alight and that a petrol bomb was thrown at the house where the car was parked.

A man sustained injuries while trying to extinguish the fire in the car, however they are not thought to be life threatening.
A number of residents were evacuated to the Foyle Arena during the incident.
Police have now appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
Police are currently dealing with an ongoing incident in the Sevenoaks area of the Waterside, Londonderry.
