GARDAI ARE appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of two thugs who viciously assaulted a man during a burglary on his home in Co. Kildare.
The sickening attack occurred on the evening of Saturday, January 30, in the Duneany area of Monasterevin.
A man aged in his 60s was attacked by the pair after they entered his home.
Several items were taken during the raid, with the two offenders suspected of fleeing the scene in a car.
Their victim suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Naas General.
A Garda spokesperson said the authorities are appealing to anyone who was in the Duneany and Kildangan areas of Monasterevin, Co. Kildare on Saturday evening between the hours of 5pm and 9pm to get in touch.
Gardai are also appealing to the community of Monasterevin as a whole to try and find anyone who may have noticed any unusual activity in the area.
