A 36-YEAR-OLD man has died following a shooting in the country's capital.
The victim suffered serious injuries after being shot in the head in north Dublin on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred in the Coolock area of the capital at around 8.15pm.
Gardaí were alerted to shots fired near Moateview Gardens before discovering an unresponsive man with a gunshot wound to the head.
The injured man remained at the scene being treated by emergency services, as of approximately 8.40pm.
According to The Irish Times, the man was being treated for his injuries in Beaumont Hospital but passed away this afternoon.
