A MAN in Scotland has been placed in an induced coma after his genitals were bitten off by a dog.
The 22-year-old was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary following the incident on Sunday.
According to the Mirror, the man was discovered unconscious and covered in blood at a flat in the Haddington area of East Lothian.
It is believed he lost both testicles and his penis in the incident.
The dog, believed to be an Olde English Bulldogge, is currently being kept in kennels while police carry out an investigation.
Police said they believed the man’s injuries were caused by a dog however inquiries into the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
The man has since been transferred to Western General Hospital where he continues to receive treatment.
