PSNI have appealed for information regarding an incident that happened on October 26.
A 34-year-old man was at home in the Abbey Park area of east Belfast when a number of masked men forced their way into his property.
The man was hit in the head with hammers by the men between 8pm and 8.30 on Friday.
Detective Gardiner of PSNI said appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference 1241 26/10/18.
Alternatively, information can also be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
