A MAN has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a tourist near the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin earlier this week.
The incident took place on Monday evening around 6pm on Longs Place, Dublin 8 near to the popular visitor attraction.
Two men stole a phone from a couple in the incident, armed with what is believed to have been an imitation gun.
One arrest has now been made with a man, reportedly aged in his 30s, was detained late on Thursday, October 24, and subsequently held at Kevin Street Garda Station.
He is due to appear in court this Friday, October 25th.
Footage of the incident was first released by RTE Radio and showed a figure in a blue hoodie can be seen pointing what appears to be a handgun at a woman, before a male partner rushes over.
The gun-toting individuals then points it at the man before he and a hooded companion of his make off with a stolen mobile phone.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Two males armed with what is believed to be a gun, allegedly stole a phone from a pedestrian.
"No injuries were reported. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing."
