A FARMER in his 60s has died after being attacked by a bull on his County Cork farm.
The 64-year-old man, who has not been named, was killed while tending to his bulls on a farm at Tullylease near Charleville last Thursday April 2.
According to CorkBeo, he was found in an unresponsive state by a neighbour who subsequently contacted the emergency services.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
His body was later taken to the morgue at Cork University Hospital.
The results of a post-mortem are expected in the coming days.
A garda spokesperson confirmed the tragic accident to Cork Beo.
"Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal workplace accident on a farm that occurred on the evening of Thursday 2nd April in Tullylease, County Cork,” they said.
"A man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Cork University Hospital for post-mortem.
"The Health and Safety Authority have since been notified."
