GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was shot and killed in Ireland last night.
The incident occurred at Wheatfield Avenue in Clondalkin, west Dublin.
Gardaí were called to the scene at 9.40pm last night following reports that a man in his 30s had been seriously injured in a shooting.
Emergency services also responded to the incident. The man, 36, later died at the scene.
According to reports in Ireland, the victim of the killing was shot a number of times and was known to gardaí.
A garda spokesperson said the area had been sealed off pending a forensic examination.
They said: “Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a shooting incident at Wheatfield Avenue, Clondalkin in Dublin.
“The incident was reported to Gardaí at 9.40pm.
“The area is currently sealed off and a forensic examination of the area will take place.”
