A MAN is his 30s has been killed in a car crash in Co Clare.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident in which an unnamed male was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and struck a wall.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, February 23 on the R465 at Roo East between Ardnacrush and Broadford.
He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time after 3am.
The man is thought to have been the car’s only occupant.
His body has been removed and transport to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a coroner is set to conduct an autopsy.
Gardai have meanwhile preserved the crash site and car for further examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local Scenes of Crime Officers.
As a result, the road has been closed to traffic with local diversions in place.
Gardaí investigating the incident are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
They are particularly keen to hear from any road users who may have camera footage who were travelling the R465 between Ardnacrusha and Broadford around the time of the collision.
