GARDAÍ have arrested a man after the body of a young woman was found at a property in rural Co. Donegal.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene in Forest Park, Killygordon this morning.
Gardaí arrested a man, also in his 20s, shortly later and he is being detained at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The house has been sealed off by investigators to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by the Garda Technical Bureau.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and the body remains at the scene pending an examination.
"The Garda Technical Bureau has been notified and will be carrying out a technical examination at the scene today.
"A man in his 20s has been arrested and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 in Letterkenny Garda Station."
Investigations are ongoing.
