A man has proposed to his fiancée live on national TV in Ireland during the Late Late Show Valentine’s Special.
James Hennessy, 28, from Mullingar popped the question to partner Siobhán Hiney, 23, after they appeared on a Mr & Mrs-style segment during the romance-themed show.
It’s not surprising James had to come up with something special for his proposal, after revealing they met in the less romantic surrounds of the Applegreen petrol station forecourt in Portlaoise.

With Siobhán unable to see or hear, believing her partner was answering questions about their relationship, host Ryan Tubridy revealed James was actually on the show to propose.
The unsuspecting bride-to-be successfully gave the same answers as James for the Mr & Mrs segment, before he shocked her by going down on bended knee.
Luckily for James, a stunned and tearful Siobhán said yes – no doubt hoping for a honeymoon far from the forecourt of Applegreen's Portlaoise.
