THE QUESTION is, do we believe him?
Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher threw fans into a frenzy last night as he hinted-- very heavily-- that the band would be getting back together two years from now.
Writing on Twitter to his 3.2 million followers, the Manchester man, whose parents are Irish, said he would be retiring as a solo artist after the release of his third album.
He then claimed he had just spoken to his brother on the phone, and that he had been 'begging' Liam to help Oasis to regroup in 2022.
(While he didn't name the brother, we have to assume he meant former bandmate Noel rather than older brother Paul.)
I intend to retire as solo artist after album no3 as I have just had a call from my brother begging me to start oasis again in 2022 if you believe in life after love c’mon you know LG x

The singer, who was also the former frontman of the band Beady Eye, had tweeted shortly before this also claiming he would be quitting as a solo artist, but the jokey tone has made fans wary that the Oasis announcement may be a follow-on joke.
He wrote:
"After album no.3 I'm gonna split up with myself I just don't think I'll be able to work with myself any longer I can write whata I like and so can he but I think it's for the best".

The tweet is an apparent play on the statement released by Noel Gallagher when he quit Oasis back in 2009, where he said "people will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer".
The Gallagher brothers have had a famously rocky relationship-- to put it lightly-- but fans have always held out hope for a reunion.
