Leading charity supporting vulnerable Irish across London appoints new governance trustee

THE Ashford Place charity has announced a new addition to its board of trustees.

Karen Saunders, who has a long career in governance, programme management, research services and event management, joins the board this month and will also be a member of the organisation’s Resource Committee.

The Cricklewood-based social inclusion charity, which was recently recognised by the Mayor of Brent for the support it offers within the local community, has been operating in the London borough for thirty years, helping people in Brent experiencing isolation, dementia, mental health and homelessness.

“We have a solid, well rounded Board with a wealth of expertise and Karen’s governance knowledge is an excellent addition.”

She added: “With, two accountants, a community care solicitor, a GP and experts in cyber security, the global insurance industry and now governance we feel the Board of Trustees is in an ideal position to support the sterling work of Ashford Place’s management and their teams.”
