THINGS are hotting up ahead of today's Dáil vote on the sale of Aer Lingus - as a Labour TD has decided to go against the Government on the matter.
Michael McNamara has told the Dáil he is “not willing to gamble” on the sale of the Government’s 25.1 per cent stake in Aer Lingus to IAG.
The Co. Clare TD apologised to Transport Minister Pascal Donohoe this morning, claiming he has "no confidence” in the deal and will not be supporting the sale.
Having voted against the Government twice in recent times, Mr McNamara risks losing the party whip if he follows through with his no vote.
The vote is set to take place at around 4.40pm this afternoon.
