AN Irish toddler has become a massive internet hit thanks to footage from an archived episode of RTE's Nationwide.
The clip was filmed in Daly’s Bar in Ennistymon, Co. Clare in 1997 as part of a segment called ‘Single Women Scarce in Kerry’ – which looked into the plight of single men in the area.
It features a small child sitting at the bar, a glass held between its tiny fingers as it takes a sip.
RTÉ journalist Cian McCormack shared the snippet on Facebook over the weekend with the caption: "You won't see this on TV nowadays. Look at this 'pint-drinking baby' in 1997 from RTÉ's Nationwide."
It has since been viewed over 750,000 times and sparked one of 2017’s greatest mysteries to date – just who is Pint Baby?
Here’s what we know:
- The baby looks no older than 18 months old in the 1997 clip so would likely be in his or her early twenties now.
- The baby was filmed in the south-west of Ireland and might be a local
That’s about all there is to go on so unless Pint Baby is found or someone recognises the people in the clip, we may never know.
Will the real Pint Baby please stand up?
