AN RTÉ producer who travelled to England to engage in sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15 has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
55-year-old Kieran Creaven appeared before Leeds Crown Court today charged with attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child under 16.
The grooming took place over a four-month period in 2017 when Creaven sent vile messages of a sexually explicit nature to a girl he believed to be 13 years old.
He was arrested after being confronted in Leeds by Predator Exposure, a self-styled paedophile hunter group.
He had been employed by RTÉ since 1998, and worked on several major sporting events including the 2012 Olympic Games.
