DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE Joe Biden has sent his best wishes to election rival Donald Trump after the President tested positive for Covid-19.
President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump both tested positive for coronavirus.
They are currently self-isolating in the White House.
Biden offered his thoughts and prayers for Trump in a statement issued on Twitter.
He tweeted: "Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery.
“We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family,''
The brief statement failed to address lingering questions over whether Biden has also been tested for coronavirus.

Biden shared a stage with Trump in Cleveland, Ohio, during the first presidential debate.
The 77-year-old has regularly clashed with Trump over his use of masks.
In previous interviews and during Tuesday’s TV debate, the President has sought to ridicule Biden’s frequent use of masks.
Biden chose not to wear a mask during the debate or during an appearance at Case Western Reserve University.
The debate was held in line with Covid-19 guidelines and overseen by medical staff.
