Joe Biden campaign forced to cancel event in Texas after Trump supporters 'ambush' bus

JOE BIDEN’S campaign team were forced to cancel an event in Texas for “security reasons” after encountering a group of Donald Trump supporters threatened a bus.

The campaign had been due to stop off in the small city of Pflugerville, just 17 miles north of Austin, in what represents a key battleground state going into election day.

However, their last-minute bid for votes was curtailed by pro-Trump protestors who reportedly pursued and blocked off a Biden/Harris campaign bus.

The convoy of “Trump Trucks” have allegedly been harrassing the Democrats and vice-presidential candidate senator Kamala Harris during their whistle-stop three-city tour of the Lone Star state.

Footage captured and shared on social media showed the vehicles surrounding the Biden coach.

In one alleged incident, a vehicle reportedly rammed the Democrat bus as it made its way down a stretch of highway.

The incident comes just days after Donald Trump Jr urged his father’s fans to give Harris a “nice Trump train welcome” and show her “how strong Texas is. Texas is Trump country".

Congressman Lloyd Doggett, US representative candidate Wendy Davis and Austin mayor Steve Adler had been due to speak at the event, which was to feature the city’s young Democrat members.

A Biden/Harris campaign bus had made a brief stop-off in Austin earlier that day, where it was met with heckles from around a dozen president Trump supporters.

Local Democrats claim the group has been following the bus around the US attempting to disrupt events in key battleground states.

According to Democrat volunteer Dr Eric Sevini, the Trump trucks were waiting on the highway to ambush the bus.

He tweeted: “These Trump supporters, many of whom were armed, surrounded the bus on the interstate and attempted to drive it off the road. They outnumbered police 50-1, and they ended up hitting a staffer’s car.”

Sheryl Cole, a Democrat member of the Texas House of Representatives, described the cancellation of the event as “a first” in her career.

"Unfortunately, pro-Trump protesters have escalated well beyond safe limits. Sorry to all who looked forward to this fun event," she said.

Rafael Anchía, a member of the Texas House of Representatives, meanwhile, hit out at Trump Jr for inciting “violence” on the eve

"Armed Trump trolls harassing Biden Bus on I-35, ramming volunteer vehicles & blocking traffic for 40 mins," he said.

"At least the Trump hearse is appropriate given the 200K+ Americans who have died due to his incompetence," he added.
