THEY SAY the Lord works in mysterious ways, but then so do the Irish.
What other possible explanation can there be for the reported sighting of a man bearing a distinct resemblance to Jesus Christ, Our Saviour, carrying an almighty cross through a street in Ireland.
The sighting in question is alleged to have taken place in Wexford.
It was first posted on social media by the user @Arlmeme who shared a picture of the Son of God making his pilgrimage up a quiet street.
The Holy image was captioned brilliantly: “Wexford on a totally normal one.”
Quite what is going on, remains the source of some debate.
One school of thought is that some devout Christian out there was going all out for Easter.
The whole country has been in lockdown for quite a while, after all.
Alternatively, and what is more likely to be the case, someone just did it for the Craic.
No other reason. Not that that isn’t reason enough, of course.

Whatever the truth, her followers were quick to find the funny side in the situation.
“Room for two on that cross,” one joked.
“Jaysis me da is such an embarrassing character,” another added.
“The crosses we each carry daily come in various forms,” a third said.
Amen to that.
