ACTOR Jamie Dornan has predicted Manchester United will romp to victory over Fulham as he revealed his love for the Red Devils.
The Belfast-born actor took on former Ireland international Mark Lawrenson at predicting the latest round of Premier League results for the BBC’s Match of the Day.
Dornan, who was promoting his latest film A Private War, revealed he had a soft spot for the Cottagers but tipped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to romp to a 4-1 victory.
“We are playing much more attractive football now under Solskjaer than we were under Jose Mourinho,” Dornan told the BBC.
“I don’t want to point the blame anywhere but Solskjaer is getting the best out of the players, which wasn’t happening previously.
“The last 10 games have been a very exciting time to be a United fan again.”
Best bar none
United and fierce rivals Liverpool both have huge followings in Ireland, however it was fellow Belfast native George Best’s legendary status at Old Trafford that swayed the actor.
He told the BBC: “There are a huge amount of Liverpool and Manchester United fans all over Ireland but it is United for me, mainly down to George Best – our airport in Belfast is named after him – and through my dad.”
Dornan teamed up with photo-journalist Paul Conroy – who he portrays in A Private War – to take on Lawro.
Both the actor and Liverpool fan Conroy reckon Jurgen Klopp’s side will have no difficulty easing past Bournemouth, tipping the Reds to win 3-1 at Anfield.
