Jameson Irish whiskey distilleries set to reopen in Dublin and Cork

IT’S THE news whiskey lovers have been waiting for.

After more than three months of lockdown, Jameson has announced plans to reopen its two main distillery sites to the public.

From today, whiskey lovers will be able to book a visit online to the Jameson Distillery on Bow St. In Dublin and the Jameson Distillery in Midleton, Co. Cork.

Both distilleries are set to re-open on July 13, 2020, albeit with a lower capacity to ensure social distancing is maintained.

A statement on the Jameson website confirmed the news.

It said: “In line with the Irish Government’s Roadmap for Reopening Society and Business, we are happy to confirm that Jameson Distillery Bow St. Dublin and Jameson Distillery Midleton, Co. Cork both plan to re-open on July 13th 2020.

“As always, the health & safety of our teams, visitors & our communities is our top priority. We are currently putting thorough measures in place to ensure all our guests and staff will have a safe, comfortable & enjoyable experience at our Brand Homes.

“Full details of this plan will be made available in advance of our reopening. Our online booking site is now re-open for experiences at Bow St. or Midleton dated July 13th onwards."

The message adds: “Pre-booking (via the link below) is strongly advised, as we will be operating at a lower capacity. We look forward to welcoming you. In the meantime, please stay safe. Best wishes, Jameson Brand Homes Team.”

Further information on how to book a place on one of the distillery tours can be found here.

With both distilleries attracting in excess of 150,000 visitors each on an annual, their return is likely to provide a welcome boost to Ireland’s tourism industry.
