SKY News presenter Jacquie Beltrao has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Dublin-born mother-of-three told her 30,000 Twitter followers about the diagnosis on New Year’s Eve.
“Been neglecting my twitter had a bit of a wobbly time of it - diagnosed with Breast Cancer on Xmas Eve - all positive thoughts welcome!!” the 48-year-old journalist wrote.
Her announcement was met with a huge outpouring of support from fans and celebrity friends alike, including Sky colleague Eamonn Holmes.
“U r my lovely friend and I will be there for you as you get through this. Stay strong, and know you are loved by so many. X” the Belfast native wrote in a message to Ms Beltrao on Twitter.
BBC presenter Gabby Logan also showed support for Ms Beltrao, who represented Britain in gymnastics at the 1984 Olympics after moving to Coventry in her childhood.

Responding to the messages, Ms Beltrao said: “Thanks everyone for your amazing tweets - made me feel all emotional - not good when you're about to do eyeliner! Xx”
She later posted an image online, telling her followers that everything was "normal" as she began celebrating the arrival of 2014.
