'Items of interest' found during search for missing woman in Cork

A number of ‘items of interest’ have reportedly been found at the search site for Cork woman Tina Satchwell who has been missing since March of last year.

Gardai investigating the disappearance of the 45-year-old began searching Mitchell’s Wood in the east Cork town of Castlemartyr last week.

The items discovered today have been sent for forensic analysis.

According to the Irish Examiner, the Garda sub aqua unit has also been drafted in to assist in the investigation.

The search of the current site in East Cork is expected to take up to at least three weeks.

Ms Satchwell’s wife, Richard Satchwell, appeared on The Neil Prendeville Show on Cork’s Red FM this morning.

During the interview, he spoke of how his wife Tina was a "great woman" but had a "flash temper". He also alleged that he had been hit by her several times.

He also indicated that there is somebody who does know the "whole story from start to finish."
