Irish weather looks to perk up over the next few days

ANYONE in living in Ireland will be well aware of the horrible frost and ice that has been commonplace the last few days.

Following days where some of us had to defrost our windscreen twice (I've never had the best luck), the temperatures are set to get marginally better.

Don't crack out the sunscreen just yet however - the weather is still going to remain cold but not as icy and frosty.

Sunday and Monday are predicted as mild and calm weather, but according to The Mirror, Tuesday may get icy once more.

Met Éireann confirmed the news in a statement: "Highest temperatures 9 to 12 degrees in a freshening southwest breeze.

"A spell of rain will affect all areas overnight, but will clear southeastwards later tonight. Strong southwest winds will veer west, and apart from scattered showers in the west, many areas will be dry by morning. Lowest temperatures 3 to 7 degrees.

Met Éireann said Monday was expected to be wet and windy also: "Monday will be a showery and breezy day. Many parts will be cloudy to begin, but it will gradually brighten up, especially over the northern half of the country. Some of the showers will be heavy, especially in the northwest, west and southwest where they will merge to produce longer spells of rain at times.

"Midday temperatures ranging 5 to 9 degrees, north to south. Gusty westerly winds veering northwest."
