SAOIRSE RONAN and Andrew Scott are flying the flag for Ireland after receiving nominations for the 77th Golden Globe Awards.
Wicklow-native Ronan has been nominated for Best Actress (Drama) for her role in Little Women.
Dublin-born Scott meanwhile has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a series, mini-series or television film for his role in Fleabag.
25-year-old Ronan is widely considered to be one of Hollywood's fastest rising stars and has been making waves with her recent work in Mary Queen of Scots and On Chesil Beach.
She'll be up against the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron and Renee Zellweger, who were also nominated for the Best Actress award. Impressive company.
Scott meanwhile has followed his fine work as Moriarty in the BBC series Sherlock with a noteworthy portrayal as 'the hot priest' in Fleabag, earning him a nomination.
Elsewhere, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman has picked up five separate nominations.
