LEGENDARY Irish actress Maureen O'Hara will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the US today.
The star of The Quiet Man died in her sleep at her US home in Boise, Idaho last month at the age of 95.
O'Hara will be laid to rest today in Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC, beside her late husband Lt Col Charles Blair, who died in an air crash in 1978.
Aside from her appearance in The Quiet Man (1952), she was known for her roles in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939) and Alfred Hitchcock's Jamaica Inn (1939).
The Dublin native was renowned in Hollywood's Golden Age for her vivid red hair, which earned her the title of the Queen of Technicolour.
She also starred as the matriarch in the Christmas classic Miracle on 34th Street (1947).
Today's funeral is expected to attract Hollywood stars who will join her family and friends in mourning the Irish screen icon.
O'Hara is survived by her Cork-based daughter Bronwyn, a grandson and great-grandchildren.
