AN Irish mother-of-two has appeared in court today in connection with the death of her three-year-old daughter in Dublin.
Zoe Cannon was allegedly assaulted at her house in Aubrey Grove, Shankill at around 4pm on Saturday, February 10.
The toddler was rushed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin in a serious condition.
She remained in a serious condition for three days and was placed in an induced coma by medical staff.
But tragically, Zoe's life-support was switched off on Tuesday morning and she was pronounced dead later that day.
Her mother, Emer Cannon, was charged with Section 4 assault causing harm to a child in relation to the alleged incident.
Medical treatment has been ordered for the 42-year-old.
She was remanded in custody until today and appeared before a judge at Bray District Court at around 10.30am.
It is understood the mother and her husband had been living in the Aubrey Grove area for around eight years and have one other child.
