GARDAI have caught an Irish motorist driving a car with the tax out of date by nearly 13 years.
The discovery was made in Co. Kildare after the driver was pulled over at a checkpoint near the town of Kill.
Following a routine chat, officers were left flabbergasted after realising the tax on the vehicle expired an eye-boggling 4,676 days ago.
Just for context, the last time the car was road-legal, Brian Cowen was Taoiseach, Steve Staunton's reign as Ireland manager was coming to a deflating end, and Conor McGregor was still working part-time as a plumbing apprentice!
The car was impounded and a hefty fine is expected to be issued to the cheeky driver.
A garda spokesman wrote on Twitter: "Naas Roads Policing Unit stopped a car at a checkpoint in Kill.
"A check using mobility App revealed that the Tax was out of date 4676 days ( nearly 13 years) car impounded.
"Proceedings to follow. The mobility project is an initiative under A Policing Service for the Future."
