THE man was found on Travers Street in County Cork.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a man was found on the side of the road with serious head injuries.
Emergency services were called and the man was rushed to hospital where it is said he's in a serious condition.
The victim was found at approximately 2am this morning, and was alone.
According to The Mirror, the 49-year-old victim is in Cork University Hospital.
Gardaí are currently investigating the case and are urging anyone with information or anyone on the Travers St area in Cork city to contact them in Anglesea St station on 021 452 2000.
