AN IRISH footballer has shared an image of a sickening hand injury with his followers on social media.
Finn Harps captain Kevin McHugh sustained the horrific injury during a training session in Donegal on Wednesday afternoon.
The 36-year old Letterkenny native’s ring finger was almost completely severed when his wedding ring was caught on a fence.
He simply said: “Think that’s my season over…”
The hardy striker somehow managed to drive himself to the emergency room despite the seemingly excruciating wound.

He added: “Some drive to casualty in 2nd gear!”
McHugh later posted a picture from his hospital bed and said: “Twitter keeping me calmer than morphine.”
Finn Harps released a statement on Facebook saying: “Best wishes to our club captain Kevin McHugh who will be on route to Galway Hospital by ambulance shortly to treat a very nasty injury following an accident today #Thereisonlyonekevinmchugh."
McHugh was due in surgery on Thursday morning.
