Irish footballer James McClean's house robbed while playing for West Brom

JAMES MCCLEAN'S kicked off yesterday evening with a first half goal at the London Stadium for his team West Brom against West Ham.

The night took a sour turn, however, when McClean returned home to find his house had been burgled.

Writing in an Instagram story in the early hours on Wednesday morning, McClean said:

“When you get home from a last min defeat and your house has been robbed.. thieving smelly b******s! Great night!”

He shared the news on Instagram with his 111,000 followers.

McClean scored a first half goal at the London Stadium as West Brom played West Ham. However, they would go on to suffer defeat following a brace from Andy Carroll. Carroll's second goal of the game arrived deep into injury time.

The defeat leaves West Brom second from bottom of the Premier League, level on points with 20th placed Swansea and four points behind Southampton and Stoke in 17th and 18th respectively.

McClean was named RTE Sportsperson of the Year in December after playing a pivotal role in Ireland's World Cup qualifying campaign.
