CONVICTED Irish drugs mule Michaella McCollum has hinted she is studying criminology just weeks after being rejected from appearing in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.
McCollum, 24, shared a picture of the Oxford Handbook of Criminology alongside a number of printed notes with her Instagram followers today.
The Co. Tyrone native was released from prison in Peru earlier this year after being released early from a six-year drug smuggling sentence.
McCollum was arrested alongside Melissa Reid in August 2013 after being caught with 11kg of cocaine while waiting for a flight to Madrid.
The so-called 'Peru two' were headed for the party island of Ibiza, where McCollum moved in June 2013 to work as a bar dancer.
The convicted drugs smuggler has attracted considerable attention from the media in recent moths and was even considered for a place in the next series of reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Last month, producers rejected McCollum for a place in the Australian jungle because they deemed she wasn’t “famous enough” to take part.
A source revealed that ITV did not want to be seen to be "rewarding bad behaviour."
The hit ITV show is set to return for its seventeenth series later this winter.
