HOT CHOCOLATE is perfect isn't it?
Amazingly simple. Chocolate, added to hot, added to between your lips. Very little can beat that.
When it comes to 'sweet' - the simpler the better in our view, and hot chocolate is the indulgent realisation of just that.
Saying that though, what we also agree on here is that most things are improved by 'putting a little Irish' into the mix.
With that in mind, we've found an absolutely gorgeous-looking hot chocolate recipe which adds a little Baileys and a dollop of whipped cream.
It's a cozy cocktail - of sorts - that'll make you forget those chilly nights with a boozy-Irish kick - and most importantly, it's simple, simple, simple!
Here's everything you'll need to know to make one yourself, courtesy of Wild Wild Whisk:
What you will need:
- 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon heavy cream
- 12 oz whole milk
- 4 oz Baileys Irish Cream
- whipped cream (for topping)
How to make it:
-
Add cocoa powder, sugar, and heavy cream in a small bowl, mix with a spoon until a thick paste form.
-
Heat milk in a small pot over medium heat until it starts to simmer, add the chocolate paste to the pot and stir with a spatula until it dissolves completely.
-
Turn off the heat and pour the Irish cream into the pot, give it a stir to combine.
-
Pour hot chocolate into a large mug or two smaller mugs if sharing.
-
Top with Irish cream whipped cream if desired.
