LIAM CUNNINGHAM is more suited to riding horseback in the role of Davos Seaworth on Game of Thrones.
However he traded the saddle for a seat in a Formula 1 racing car while in Monza for the Italian Grand Prix last week.
The Dublin actor was enjoying the practice sessions ahead of the main race when he and co-star Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, were given a tour around the F1 compound.
The pair were taking a break from Game of Thrones, which is partly shot in Northern Ireland, before filming begins on the final season next month.
After the tour, Cunningham and Harington then got suited up and took to the track at Monza – albeit as passengers – for the full F1 experience.
The customised F1 cars boast two cockpits and Cunningham and Harington set off together around the historic circuit, where Juan Pablo Montoya record the fastest lap in 2004 with an average speed of 162.95 mph.
F1 intends to have a pair of the two-seater experience cars running at every event next year, having implemented a limited programme for 2017.
They certainly look to have got the Onion Knight’s seal off approval.
