A COUPLE of Irish places have been voted into the top 50 most 'Instagrammable' locations in Europe, and one has even made it into the top 10.
Co. Kerry was voted as the 6th most Instagrammable spot on the continent, while Co. Donegal came in at 26th on the list.
If you're unfamiliar with the term, 'Instagrammable' is basically a millennial word for picturesque, just with more selfies.
Of course, for better of for worse, Instagram has taken over the world of photography, and has brought the stunning pockets and corners of the world to everyone's fingertips.
Big 7 Travel, one of the world's leading travel companies, have ranked the very best spots around Europe that are all but guaranteed to reel in the 'likes'.
They've combined analysis of Instagram hashtags and feedback from their readership, as well as the added insight from their internal travel experts to come up with a definitive top 50.
The list is made up of a mix of cities, entire countries and more localised areas such as counties or districts.
The judging panel scored on the following criteria: abundance of Instagrammable spots, originality, natural Instagrammable spots, man-made Instagrammable spots and food and drink Instagrammable spots.
Kerry, if you've never had the pleasure of visiting, is possibly Ireland's most scenic county. Sweeping hills, jagged seaside cliffs and misty peaks, Kerry's appeal far-reaching to say the least.
Whatever your photographic preference, Kerry's lakes, mountains and coastline are usually worthy any award. Add in the gorgeous Killarney National Park and the quaint little town of Dingle, you've got yourself quite the social media savvy feast.
The other Irish entry is Co. Donegal, coming in at number 26th.
This rugged section of Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way is littered with stretching beaches and delightful villages which only add to the charm of the place. Whatever the weather, Donegal is worthy of a photo.
