IRELAND'S weather will be better than such holiday hotspots as Lanzarote and Ibiza as temperatures are expected to rise into the low 20’s.
Ireland’s national forecaster Met Eireann has brought the good news that the country will enjoy long spells of warm, dry and sunny weather for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Despite cool conditions early this morning, temperatures are set to rise steadily over the weekend and will result in a scorcher.
The weather will begin to pick up this afternoon with nationwide temperatures climbing to between 14C and 20C.
Temperatures are set to dip a little overnight to between 7C and 11C with some mist and drizzle affecting Atlantic and southern coastlines.
Saturday will start off pretty cloudy and mild but will brighten up quickly with temperatures rising to between 14C and 20C.
The midlands, east coast and Dublin will experience the best of the weather with highs of 21C, making those areas warmer than Ibiza, Lanzarote and Barcelona.
Sunday will see highs of 19C to 21C in inland regions with prolonged spells of sunshine.
The Bank Holiday Monday will remain good, with “plenty of sunshine” on offer according to Met Eireann. Highs will be between 20C and 21C again.
While this is great news for people all over the country, it’s particularly poignant to those heading to any of Ed Sheeran’s three gigs this weekend in Cork.
Ed will take to the stage at a sunny Pairc Ui Caoimh this evening, with support from Beoga, Jamie Lawson and Anne-Marie.
