STAR gazers across Britain and Ireland were in for a treat last night as a meteor shower lit up the sky.
The Perseids meteor shower peaked last night, with shooting stars visible across many parts of the countries.
It was a clear night across most of Ireland, with some incredible pictures being taken - while London was mainly under cloud, blocking the views for city dwellers.
However, views in other parts of Britain were just as impressive as those from Ireland.
