LIVERPOOL’s Irish community pulled on their gladrags to step out for the city’s annual St Patrick’s Day Ball over the weekend.
Organised by the Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Liverpool, in association with the Merseyside Irish Business Group, the occasion is their "fundraising event of the year".
Held at the Britannia Adelphi Hotel, the glitzy dinner dance brought Irish community members together with staff, students and supporters of the Institute.
Guests, welcomed by BBC presenter Roger Philips, who acted as MC for the night, were treated to a a five course dinner, which was followed by impressive traditional Irish dancing and musical displays.
