Iceland is home to the world’s first ever beer spa and it’s just as amazing as it sounds

ICELAND IS redefining the definition of boozy trips abroad thanks to its latest innovative attraction: a beer spa.

The Bjórböðin Beerspa & Restaurant might just be the best thing to come out of Scandinavia since ABBA, with patrons invited to enjoy any number of relaxing spa treatments.

Crucially, some of these treatments happen involve soaking away those daily stresses in hot tubs filled with beer.

It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, lie back and get completely off your trolley.

You needn’t worry though - they aren’t expecting you to glug down on the beer-based juices you’re soaking your body in.

A beer spa

Instead, each tub comes complete with a beer tap that offers the user the latest tipple from the nearby microbrewery.

A range of options are available, with single tub hour-long sessions priced at around 6,900 kroner while anyone looking to partner up can fork out 13,000 kroner for a double.

The more adventurous among you may even fancy soaking it up in one of the venue’s various outside tubs.

A beer bath.

These offer holidaymakers the chance to take in the breathtaking views of the Þorvalds Valley while getting totally pissed of course.

With visits available as part of a week-long tour of the region offered by Magnetic North Travel, this could be the ideal retreat for anyone wishing to  drown their sorrows in a giant vat of booze.

Don’t go trying to recreate this sort of magic at home though – filling your bath with 40 cans of Carlsberg isn’t quite as magical.
