Ian McLintock appointed new CEO of London Irish Centre

THE London Irish Centre has appointed a new Chief Executive – with Ian McLintock set to take over from David Barlow.

Mr McLintock will step into his new role on December 1, joining the LIC from The Climate Group, a charity that works to address climate change.

The LIC has been providing welfare, social and cultural services to the Irish community across London for more than 60 years.

In a unanimous decision, the Centre's Board of Trustees decided Mr McLintock would be the best man for the job.

David Barlow officially stepped down from the role in May after four years heading up the organisation.

Seán Kennedy, who is a member of the Board of Trustees, has stood in as interim CEO during the recruitment process.

A native of Scotland, Mr McLintock’s Irish roots go back to Co. Donegal, where his family hail from.

A former member of the Royal Air Force, he has worked in senior management roles for over 20 years, with a variety of charitable organisations.

Speaking of his appointment, Mr McLintock said: “I am delighted to be joining the talented team at the London Irish Centre.

“Over the coming years, I hope to build substantially on our current work to meet the growing needs of the Irish community in London, whilst retaining the culture and identity that makes LIC the unique organisation it is today.”

Welcoming him to his new role, Chair of the Board of Trustees Dermot Murphy said: “The Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome Ian to the London Irish Centre.

“His appointment is based on an impressive performance record in a number of key senior management and board level leadership roles.

“I and the Board are confident that in Ian we have a strong CEO who will lead the London Irish Centre towards new heights.”
