BOTH FORMER and current Gaelic football, camogie and hurling players have clubbed together in a bid to end homelessness in Ireland.
A new group under the name 'Gaelic Voices for Change' comprised of sportspeople has been set up to tackle issues facing our society, with their first priority being homelessness.
Using the hashtag #SolidaritySleepout, GAA players took to the street in locations such as Galway, Cork, Dublin, Limerick, Portlaoise, Naas, Sligo, Wexford, Carlow, New York and Boston.
According to Newstalk, more than €177,000 has been raised for homeless charities. The hashtag began to trend nationwide last night.
