Hotelier and businessman named as Galway crash victim

THE victim of a crash in Corr na Móna yesterday has been identified.

On Saturday, the man was driving in the vehicle alone in the region of Carrick East, Cornamona in County Galway yesterday at approximately 1.30pm.

It was reported the driver of the vehicle was driving when he crashed and sadly died. The crash did not injure any other victims as it was a one-car incident.

The man died upon impact of the crash, where Gardaí moved the deceased to University Hospital Galway.

The road was sealed off for a forensic examination by Gardaí investigators for further details, but today the name of the victim has been released.

According to the Connacht Tribune, the deceased has been identified as Eoin Burke, a businessman.

The man was from Clonbur and is believed to have been married with children.

The body of the deceased will undertake a post-mortem examination.
