A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been found dead in a doorway in Cork city.
The man was found at approximately 7 am on Sunday morning.
The body of the deceased was found on Wandesford Quay near Washington Street in the city by a person passing by.
According to The Irish Times, the authorities were alerted and emergency services came to the scene however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body of the man was brought to Cork University Hospital pending a post-mortem examination to determine how he died.
An Garda Síochána in Cork say the body of the man was not found in suspicious circumstances.
