CCTV FOOTAGE has emerged online showing an elderly man mistaking a slush-puppy machine for a hand-sanitiser dispenser.
The video was captured by security footage of from a petrol station in Ireland, in an unknown location on September 15, according to the Daily Mail.
In the footage, the face-mask-wearing man can be seen walking through the entrance before turning to his left.
Clearly keen to follow the necessary Covid-19 public health rules, he looks around for a hand-gel dispenser.
Unable to find one, he then heads over to a nearby slushy machine and - believing it to be sanitiser - squeezes some out onto his hands and begins to rub it in before making his way towards the counter, unaware of his error.

The clip has since gone viral, with social media users finding the incident both funny and heartbreaking in equal measure.
"Aww bless him. At least he's taking things seriously, unlike most people," wrote one Twitter user.
Some even claimed it was a mistake they'd make all too easily.
"I'm glad someone else has done this because I was inches from slush-puppying myself in the shop yesterday," said another Twitter user.
"It's just the sort of daft thing I'd do!" Another wrote.
One Facebook commenter said: "The world is just so confusing at the moment."
