THE Kidd School of Irish Dance celebrated its 50 year anniversary with a special party last weekend.
Founded in 1964 by Annie Kidd, who still runs the academy today, dancers old and current came out to celebrate with Annie and her guests at the Irish Centre in Digbeth.
The 50-year-old dancing school has gone from strength to strength from its Birmingham base, having produced World Champions, British Champions and American Champions over those years.
Daughter Fiona said: “What she has done for Irish dancing, no words can describe. I don’t know anyone else worldwide in the business that still is teaching 50 years later and still producing Irish dancers at the highest of standards.”
