Gardaí treating discovery of young man’s body in Irish park as suspicious

THE DISCOVERY of a young man’s body in an Irish park is being treated as suspicious by gardaí.

The body was discovered at around 6.30am at Butler Park off the Cheeverstown Toad in Tallaght, D24.

It is understood the man was local and was aged in his 20s.

The man’s body has been removed from the scene and a post mortem will be carried out by assistant state pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster.

While that will determine the direction of the investigation, it is understood the death is being treated as suspicious and the man suffered a violent death.

The Garda Technical Bureau are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene.
