GARDAÍ patrolling in County Tipperary found one vehicle with no sufficient documents for operating a vehicle.
The driver in question, now without their car and licence, faces a court date after producing a fake driving licence on the road.
The van driver was stopped by Cashel Gardaí who found that the driver had no motor tax since 2015, no certificate of roadworthiness and most importantly, a fake driving licence.
The licence was spotted by Gardaí as the fadas, acute accents used to accentuate long vowels in the Irish language which are traditionally used as (á) were facing the opposite way.
The Garda Traffic Twitter account wasted no time in making a pun out of the embarrassing mistake carried out by the person responsible for the fada faux pas.
They tweeted: "Happy Fadas Day! Cashel Gardaí stop van to discover tax out since 2015 and no CRW.
"To top it off driver produced a fake driving licence, the biggest give away among many notable mistakes was the fadas were facing the wrong way! Car & Licence seized. Driver to court," they added.
