GARDAI were forced to rush to a shopping centre in Dublin following a bomb scare on Tuesday morning.
It had been reported that a potentially explosive device had been left unattended in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.
Officers were scrambled to investigate the device and arrived at the scene at around 7.30am.
An extensive search was carried out around the shopping centre, however no item was ultimately found.
Speaking to Extra.ie, a gardai spokesperson said: "At approximately 7.30am, Gardai responded to reports of a potential suspicious device in a shopping centre in the Clondalkin area, Dublin on August 11, 2020.
"A search of the area was conducted and no item was located. Enquiries ongoing."
Gardai said they would be continuing their investigation to work out who was behind the incident.
