Gardaí investigate after man found stabbed to death in Irish town

GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses after a man was found stabbed to death in Ireland this afternoon.

The incident happened in the village of Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick shortly before 5pm.

According to the Irish Mirror, the victim was 35 years old.

In a statement, gardaí said: "Gardai in Newcastlewest are investigating the death of male in his 30s in a house in the village of Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick on December 30, 2017.

"Gardaí were called to the scene shortly before 5pm and discovered the body of a male in a house. The area was immediately sealed off for a technical examination.

"The office of the State Pathologist has been notified. The body remains at the scene.

"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact the Gardaí in Newcastlewest on 061 393102, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
